FAQ

Fine Art Portraiture Photography and More - FAQ

Do you have a studio?
Well YES, after we closed our River Oaks studio back on August 1, 2016 we have enjoyed working from our home that's on a working ranch about 35 miles west out I-10 from downtown Houston, in a little town that time has forgotten, Pattison, Texas. We have lots of outdoor scenic settings for awesome portraits from rustic farming ranch barns to mystical backgrounds with tree lined pathways. And of course we know by scouting the nearby towns and rural country side where there are some gorgeous landscape settings, as well.

How long have we been Portrait Photographers?
We been working full time as Portrait Photographers, along with wedding photography and videography since 2004. But our photographic training and experience goes back to the late 1970's. Back in the day when we rolled our own film, developed the negatives and printed the photograph. We still love the smell of the darkroom and the magic that can be created even after the photograph has been taken.

What is your style?
We are storytellers using classic trained photography skills to convey what we see and it usually isn't what others see at all. We can achieve and deliver any style of photography that you want, you must tell us what your are looking for in your portrait photos. We often use a photojournalistic approach in capturing the story of the session, too, yet we are trained in posing individuals and groups so that they are photographed in the best most flattering way. Depending on our clients' tastes, we adapt to create what they want and we will deliver images that exceed their expectations.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use the Nikon Cameras and top of the line Nikon lenses, and in certain situations we will use MFT mirror-less Panasonic GH5 cameras so that we won't generate any shutter noises.  Additionally, we bring professional lighting equipment and are prepared for any lighting situation.

Do you carry liability insurance?
Absolutely! You should ask this of all your vendors and be wary of working with those who don't.

What do we require to book your portrait session?
We require just an honest commitment to show up after we've mutually agreed on a time and location.

How long do you have to wait to see the pictures from your session?
Don't be surprised to get your photos in about 3 to 4 days! But sometimes it might take a week. The images will be uploaded to our online gallery so your friends and family can see them.

How many images will we receive?
Depending on the portraits session type most usually yield around 25 images depending on whether or not we are intentionally going to create an album from the session in which case we will shoot more, all of which are incredibly gorgeous and worthy of being made into 30x40 prints. We discuss this topic during the planning session so that there are no surprises.

Do you travel for portraits?
Yes, we regularly travel for portraits. We add a $300 travel fee to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi (and anywhere else between 50 to 250 miles outside of Houston) plus two nights at a hotel. There is no travel fee for a location within 50 miles west of Houston. Locations like Galveston, Texas we must add an extra $100 for sessions on the beach. We also have custom travel quotes for those who are far out of the area but desire our services.

Do you shoot weddings?
No, we use our other photography company "Sweet Spirit Photos" for all weddings and special event photography.
We created Buller Photography for every else besides Weddings/Special Events from Dance Recital Photos, Team and Individual Sports Photos, Pets, Babies, Maternity, Boudoir Seniors and Families to Fashion/Models and Corporate Executive Head Shots.
